Middlesex
I enjoyed it for about 400 pages and then the omniscence of Cal's voice began to wear on me. In the end, I didn't care all that much about Cal, and although it was probably the most realistic two pages of the novel, I didn't like the way he ended the story of Desdemona. I read this for my office's summer read, and I'll be very interested to see what sort of discussion we have.
